Sculptural facade lighting honoring the building's flowing architectural form - warm linear wash traces every curve.
View ProjectAs the first completed core landmark of Ho Chi Minh City’s International Financial Center, Saigon Marina IFC represents a major step in Vietnam’s connection to the global economy. Rising along the Saigon River as one of the country’s tallest buildings, the tower required a lighting solution that could express its architectural stature after dark. YD ILLUMINATION delivered an integrated facade and landscape lighting system, giving the new “riverside pearl” a refined, dynamic, and recognizable nighttime presence.
Facade lighting for ultra-high-rise buildings often faces challenges such as voltage drop, limited cable routing space, multiple power feed points, complex installation conditions, and and long-term maintenance requirements.
YD ILLUMINATION deployed a 48V wide-voltage adaptive point light system, engineered specifically for skyscraper applications. This approach minimized power feed points and cable density, reducing material usage and installation risk while effectively mitigating voltage drop issues and spatial constraints common in tall buildings.

Intelligent Control System
The intelligent control system supports scheduled playback and remote content updates, ensuring stable daily operation while allowing flexible updates for commercial display content.
With reserved interfaces for light sensing and interactive control, the system provides a foundation for future adaptive brightness adjustment, energy-saving operation, and a smarter light environment.
Lighting Design & Customization

YD ILLUMINATION’s design and technical teams conducted on-site surveys to collect first-hand project data. Back at the factory, the team built a full-scale curtain wall mockup for real lighting effect testing and produced multiple rounds of 3D lighting simulation videos. This lighting design verification process helped reduce implementation uncertainty and supported clear alignment among the client, contractor, and owner.
After multiple tests and design comparisons, the final solution combined point lights with linear luminaires. Point lights support dynamic media effects and visual expression, while linear lighting reinforces the architectural edges and structural outline. The fixture track color was also customized to match the facade’s decorative strips, achieving a “visible light, invisible fixture” effect that balances nighttime expression with the building’s daytime architectural aesthetics.

Technical Services & On-Site Support
During installation and construction, YD ILLUMINATION provided technical support for fixture positioning, mounting structure, wiring, commissioning, and control system integration. The team worked closely with contractors and client representatives to ensure smooth implementation of complex facade details.
Project Delivery
Facing a tight schedule requiring design and delivery within two months, YD ILLUMINATION activated cross-department collaboration across design, technical, and production teams. From site survey and design development to mockup testing and production delivery, each stage was executed efficiently.
Value & Urban Impact
The project delivery extended beyond the tower itself. YD ILLUMINATION further supported lighting for plazas, fountains, interactive ground lights, and starry sky light strings, completing a full-scene lighting experience from the high-rise media facade to public urban space and enhancing nighttime activity across the district.
