On August 17, 2017 -18, co-organized by China Illuminating Society, Japan Illuminating Engineering Society and South Korea Institute of Lighting and Electrical Equipment, and the 10th Asian Lighting Conference hosted by China Illuminating Engineering Society was held in Shanghai Tongji University.

The theme of the conference is "Human Centric Lighting in Asia". The presentation is done English. Simultaneous interpretation in both Chinese and English is provided. Experts and scholars from 10 countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Russia and Singapore got together and reached a total number of 300 people. The studies was focused on hot issues such as residential lighting, smart lighting, visual perception, light health and light pollution.

The opening ceremony of the conference and the invitation report were done by Professor Pan Jiangen, vice chairman of CIES of China Illuminating Society. Professor Pan extended his warm congratulation on the scheduled meeting of the conference and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the participants.

As the host country China's first invited report, called oil lamp collector, former Dean of College of Architecture ,Southeast University, and college of Architecture and Urban Planning, Shenzhen University Professor Zhong Dekun published a "speech of the Chinese old oil lamp," about the story Chinese oil lamps from ancient to modern history and culture, the charm of the ancient Chinese lamps is displayed in front of the attendees. Prof. Yoshi Ohno, Chairman of CIE, also brought a brilliant report on "CIE Research Strategy - The Future of Lighting Color Quality", in which Professor Yoshi Ohno pointed out the problems of CRI and proposed the new 2017 Color Fidelity Index report. Keynote speeches were delivered by Hua Shuming from China, Takashi Irikura from Japan, Kwak Youngshin from Korea and CHIEN Szu-Cheng from Singapore respectively.

Professor Yoshi Ohno Brings A Fantastic Report on "CIE Research Strategy - Lighting the Future of Color Quality"

The two-day conference has 29 oral reports, 20 short oral reports and more than 100 posting reports. The conference also set up two parallel workshops on topics such as urban light pollution control and light health, respectively, hosted by Professor Kim Hoon from Korea and Chinese researcher Daiqi, and experts and scholars from various countries conducted relevant academic discussions respectively on the status of their respective countries .

At the conference, Steve Lau, deputy director of YD Intelligent Lighting Research Institute and foreign expert Steve Lau, with the theme of "the importance of waterproof technology in outdoor LED applications", stressed the importance of the waterproof performance of the second encapsulated LED lamps as high as IP68 that how to effectively prevent the corrosion of outdoor moist environment, and through the cases sharings of YD double production LED applied to overseas project in recent years. In addition, during the meeting, Steve Lau expert exchanged ideas and knowledge  with experts and scholars from various countries on the effect of light on photobiological safety and human physiological clock and other issues.

It is reported that Asia Lighting Convention, formerly known as China-Japan-Korea Lighting Conference, one session each year, hosted by the three countries Japan and Korea, China has been successfully held nine times, the number of the General Assembly with China-Japan-Korea lighting conference serial number, 2017 Shanghai Conference officially named "The 10th Asian Lighting Conference," the next Asian Lighting Conference will be held from September 13 to September 14, 2018 at Kobe University in Japan.
