Hua Xu: the third version of "Lighting Design Manual," was edited by the Beijing Institute of lighting lighting design professional committee. It consists of twenty-five chapters, and it included the basic knowledge of lighting design, construction, office, shop, gymnasium, transportation and other lighting areas. The first edition of "Lighting Design Manual" was published in 1998.

 Then second edition was published in 2006. Since its release, it has been well-welcome received by the lighting designers, electrical and lighting engineering designers, construction and installation, operation, maintenance personnel, relevant professional teachers and students in junior college as one of the necessary tools for lighting design. They are widely cited in professional papers, books and computer software. In 2003, they were appointed as one of the reference books (the only reference book for lighting profession) in the qualification examination for registered electrical engineers (Power Distribution) and won the first prize of the first education and academic contribution of China Illumination Award.
